Kubernetes: Service Meshes & Spinnaker for CI/CD

Los Angeles Kubernauts and Cloud Native enthusiasts!

We're excited to announce our November meetup will be hosted at Google on November 9, 2017.

Also, if you'd like to speak at a future meetup ping us via meetup or twitter (@baldwinmathew). Anyone can present or do a lightning demo regardless of experience.

6:30 - 7:00 - Social Mixer / Open House

7:00 - 7:30 - Vic Iglesias - Google - Using Spinnaker as your CI/CD Engine for Kubernetes

You will learn about how to use Spinnaker to orchestrate your continuous delivery pipelines. Deployment is a breeze with the Spinnaker Helm chart. The real fun starts when you create a complex roll out strategy for your application that includes continuous integration, canary testing and reliable deployment to production.

7:30 - 8:00 - Christopher Liljenstolpe  - Tigera - Service Mesh, Istio, Envoy, what a fine mesh we find ourselves in

We’ll cover what a Service Mesh is, how Istio implements a service mesh, and what benefits that Istio-based service mesh brings to both the developer and the DevOps/SRE/Operations community.

We’ll cover some of the more popular Istio components and plug-ins, what’s new in the 0.2 release, and what’s coming.

8:00 onward - QA, Wrap-up, Mixer
